When Pastors Leave Their Church
This is a very important episode of the Faith and Money Podcast that you shouldn’t miss. Even if you’re not in pastoral ministry, this episode is for you.
Have you ever been apart of a church where the pastor resigned? There are many reasons that a pastor could leave a particular role. But more often than not those transitions are filled with conflict, hurt, and bitterness. Too often the gossip that erupts from these situations is scandalous and deeply hurtful.
The consequences are pretty serious when the minister is forced to leave a church. It’s a lot different than leaving a job. A minister could take a year or more before they find their next ministry assignment. Many times the biggest consequence is the loss of community. The whole family may feel ostracized, especially if the split was due to the result of sin.
The church seems very good at judging, damaging, and destroying it’s shepherd.

Bill Tom, however, has seen the need for the church to do better and has provided a platform to help both churches and ministers separate more peacefully and without so much trauma for everyone involved. The cost for this service in my estimation is negligible, but the peace and harmony for everyone involved is invaluable.
